The UK esports industry is booming.
According to an annual survey, esports revenues were up by 12% in 2016, according to The SportsBusiness Journal.
The report also says esports are a growing industry, with a total of 2.1 million registered players, and that esports are expected to become a $7 billion industry by 2021.
It’s a lot of money to get into the esports scene.
The sport is estimated to earn $1.3 billion by 2021, up from $500 million last year.
The UK has a population of around 2.4 million.
According to the UK Esports Association (UKESA), the UK’s esports industry has grown from 1,000 people in 2016 to more than 4,000 this year.
It has an estimated turnover of $7.8 billion.
The UK esports sector is estimated by UKESA to have revenue of $5.6 billion by 2020, up 5% on last year, with revenues of $4.2 billion.UKESA says the industry is on track to be the UKs top-grossing sport by 2020.UK esports are estimated to generate $6.8bn in revenue by 2020 and $11.5bn by 2021 compared to the global esports industry, according the UKESA.
The industry is estimated in 2020 to generate approximately $3.5 billion in revenues, up 14% on 2020, and is estimated at around $5 billion by 2022.
